Glenn Carter, usn (ret) is the Director of Academic Support
for the Orlando Campus located in Orlando, FL. His responsibilities include supervision
of campus staff, marketing, student recruitment and retention, and financial management.
Mr. Carter comes to the Orlando Campus with over 30 years of naval aviation experience,
including executive management, supervision, security, and maritime and safety
management. Carter gained this experience through working as an aviation gas free
engineer, company commander, aircraft maintenance manager, line operations manager,
air traffic controller, and aviation structural mechanic, among numerous other
positions, before retiring from the U.S. Navy.
As an aviation manager, consultant, and contracting officer technical representative with the U.S Department of Homeland Security, Mr. Carter assisted in developing the Transportation Security Administrations Airport Access Control Pilot Program in addition to other security projects. Mr. Carter also assisted with the review of the North Carolina Rural Court Commission on Courthouse Security and Safety for all Judges, Staff, and Public Personnel.
Mr. Carter is a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, holding a Bachelor of Science in Professional Aeronautics degree and a Master of Aeronautical Science degree with specializations in safety and operations. He plans to continue his education by obtaining a doctoral degree.
A father of five boys, Mr. Carter enjoys flying, golf, traveling and is also a musician (drummer/percussionist).
Marilyn Miller is the Assistant Director of Academic Support at the Orlando Metro Campus. Marilyn received her Bachelor of Science in Technical Management with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Marilyn comes to ERAU with 9 years of Army experiences as an Administrative Specialist. She comes from an Army Family; her husband is Active Duty Army station at Fort Bragg, NC, along with her son Eric. Her oldest son Chris is station in Korea.
Shannon Tatum is the Assistant Director of Academic Support for the Orlando Metro Campus. She joined ERAU in October 2002, after working as a national recruiter for an IT Consulting Firm. She has B.S. in Business Management from The Florida State University and is currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Management degree from ERAU. Shannon and her husband, Trent, enjoy the Florida life and time with their son Coleman and daughter Kenni.
Orin Godsey has been involved in aviation safety for the past 33 years. He spent 29 years in the United States Air Force retiring in 1997, the last position he held in the Air Force was Chief of Safety of the U. S. Air Force and Commander, Headquarters Air Force Safety Center. He has been an aviation consultant since 1997 and has been active in the aviation community and with the Flight Safety Foundation promoting safety. Prior to his retirement from the Air Force he was a member of the Flight Safety Foundation ICARUS Committee and the International Safety Committee. During his membership on the ICARUS Committee he helped study and develop a Controlled Flight Into Terrain (CFIT) checklist for the prevention of CFIT accidents. He holds a commercial pilot license with over 3300 flight hours and has flown numerous types of aircraft. He has been teaching aviation safety related courses at Embry-Riddle for over 9 years.
